Developed by a partnership between the Marine Exchange of the San Francisco
Bay Region, the National Ocean Service and the Office of Spill Prevention
and Response, P.O.R.T.S. is a 24 hour-a-day program which measures the
currents, depth, salinity and wind in San Francisco and Suisun Bays.
Me asurements are taken every six (6) minutes, available by telephone
or computer website. This data is particularly important to the safety
of merchant shipping, recreational boaters, ferry boats, wind surfers
and the whole range of users of the bays. More details can be found
