The Martinez Refining Company (MRC) is a major petroleum refining complex located on a 1,000-acre site along the Carquinez Strait in Martinez, California. Originally built by Shell in 1915 and acquired by PBF Energy in 2020, the facility is a cornerstone of the Greater Bay Area's industrial and energy infrastructure, capable of processing approximately 157,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
