Who We Are
The Marine Exchange of the San Francisco Bay Region is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade organization dedicated to enhancing maritime safety, operational efficiency, and collaboration across the Bay Area’s ports and waterways.
As the Bay Area’s official provider of maritime operational intelligence and vessel movement data, we deliver real-time insights, trusted analysis, and expert guidance to vessel operators, pilots, port authorities, public agencies, and maritime stakeholders. Our work supports the full lifecycle of vessel activity—from arrival planning and port operations to departure, intermodal connections, and regional transportation readiness.
Our member-driven network includes shipping companies, terminal operators, marine service providers, and public agencies working together to promote safe, reliable navigation throughout the San Francisco Bay Region. We partner across public, private, and governmental sectors to advance safety initiatives such as the Harbor Safety Committee, promote best practices, and strengthen the resilience of the region’s transportation system.
