A Message to the Community from Captain Lynn Korwatch
Dear Maritime Partners,
As you know the CDC and other federal, state and local entities have issued instructions that spell out the next steps to limit the spread of COVID-19. In order to protect our staff and provide continued support to our community I want to inform you of the procedures and protocols that the Marine Exchange has put into place.
Effective Immediately:
All office staff will be working remotely. We all have access to email and have cell phones so please do not hesitate to contact us if necessary.
The Ops Staff will continue to cover the desk, and for their protection, will be the only ones allowed in the office.
The space has been thoroughly cleaned and is sanitized at the end, during and the beginning of every shift.
While we feel that the office is a safe and secure environment we are working on a solution to allow the Ops Staff to work remotely too. The challenge is our ability to provide a VHF radio connection but my tech team feels that a solution may be available in the future. As we all are aware, the maritime industry is critical to the well being of the country so ships must continue to arrive and depart, and goods must continue to flow.
For over 170 years, the Marine Exchange has provided information and support to the SF Bay Region maritime industry and we want to reassure you that we will continue to assist you in whatever way we can during this latest crisis.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Please be safe during the rough seas ahead.
Best Regards,
Captain Lynn Korwatch
Executive Director
Marine Exchange of the San Francisco Bay Region
