HSC Working Groups

The Tsunami Ready Maritime (TReM) Working Group is a working group of the Harbor Safety Committee of the San Francisco Bay Region, formed to improve maritime readiness and decision-making during tsunami alerts. The group focuses on developing clear, practical guidance for commercial maritime operators, emphasizing vessel actions, port coordination, and transportation system impacts rather than public evacuation. Its goal is to translate tsunami and earthquake science into usable, region-specific best practices that reduce risk to life, property, and the environment during tsunami events.
